I Corinthians 6:19-20
"Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God?  You are not your own; you were bought at a price.  Therefore, honor God with your body."

The responsibility for your life is up to you, for the Lord has given you the freedom to make choices.  Our Lord wants us to have soundness of body here on earth as well as in heaven.  When we feel great we are able to focus on others and the Lord more than on our own aches and pains.

Being in good condition does not necessarily mean just having a good diet - there are many factors which enter into living an abundant and quality life - but we are going to go on an adventure with the foods God gave to us.  Learning about herbs, vegetables, fruits, nuts, seeds, etc. will be a lot of fun.  There will not be a lot of homework, just good information.

This week is about red and black raspberries.  Let's see how we can use this wonderful fruit.

Red raspberries are high in iron and manganese.  The tannic acid in raspberry leaves helps with female abdominal cramps and morning sickness, as well as reducing labor pains.  The root bark of raspberries can be made into an infusion for sore and inflamed eyes.  It is also used as a skin astringent.

Here is a beauty tip:

Fruit Gel Mask  (normal to dry skin)
1 TBLSP unflavored gelatin
1/2 cup raspberry juice

Combine gelatin and juice in an oven proof container.  Heat gently to dissolve the gelatin completely.  Remove fom heat and place in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.  When ready, spread a thin layer on your face and allow to dry.  Peal off and rinse with cool water.

John 10:10
"The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy.  I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full"

Don't let the ways of the world steal your life; give your body the foods it needs to function.  Have fun and see you next time.
