Just a Thought
Biblical Nutrition

Romans 12:1-2
"Therefore, I urge you, brothers in view of God's mercy to offer your bodies as living sacrifices holy and pleasing to God - this is your spiritual act of worship.  Do not conform any longer to the pattern of the world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind.  Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is - His good, pleasing and perfect will."

One of the problems with diet today is that some of us were not taught the facts of a good diet.  We need veggies, fruits, grains, nuts, seeds, herbs, etc., and lots of water and exercise.

Where I grew up, we ate whatever hit the table (good or bad).  There was a time when my mother served up a beautifully cooked opossum.  I looked at that and thought, "No way I'm going to eat that!"  So I ate whatever else we had on the table.  But sometimes I wonder if the opossum would be better for you than the fast foods of today.  I have a hard time eating out because of all the food additives.

Here are other things to think about as the temple of God:  What were we taught about our fellowman?  Do we think kind thoughts and speak blessings?  Ephesians 4:29  "Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen."  Also, what do we do with our time?  It is awesome that we have the freedom to make choices which will affect our lives and others around us.

This time it's carrots.  The carrot is supposed to have originated from wild carrots, known as Queen Anne's Lace.  Carrots are high in vitamin A.

Beauty tip:

Complexion problems?  For teens with pimples, white heads, or blackheads - or for adults who may have boils, cysts, and abscesses - skin may be rough and dry.  These problems may be due to poor diet and are the result of an acid condition of the blood.  Carrot juice is rich in potassium and helps neutralize this excess acid.  It also has an incredible amount of vitamin A which helps the liver remove toxins.

John 10:10
"The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy.  I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full"

Don't let the ways of the world steal your life; give your body the foods it needs to function.  Have fun and see you next time.

Saucy Dilled Carrots

3/4 lb. carrots, thinly sliced
1/4 cup unsweetened apple juice
1 tsp oil
2 tsp arrowroot (or tapioca flour)
1/3 cup unsweetened apple juice
1 tsp dried dill weed

In heavy saucepan with a tight-fitting lid, simmer the carrots and 1/4 cup apple juice until carrots are tender (about 12-15 min.)  If juice boils away, add a little water to prevent sticking.  Add the oil.  In a cup, combine the arrowroot with 1/3 cup apple juice.  Stir into the pan, cook, stirring for about 2 min. until the sauce is thick and clear.  Stir in the dill.
