Biblical Nutrition

Genesis 2:15-17
"The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it.  And the Lord God commanded the man, You are free to eat from any tree in the garden, but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat of it you will surely die."

Apples are an awesome fruit.  They are easily digested, are oxygen carriers, and are good for building bones.  Apples are stabilizers, brain and body builders, and good for detoxifying the body - particularly the liver and kidney.  Apples are also great tooth cleansers.  Apple water is a good, cooling drink for a fever.  The old saying, "An apple a day keeps the doctor away" is something to go by as a daily regimen.  Apples keep you regular, too.

Sweet apples are good if your body is overly acidic, while sour apple are for too little acid.  Apples are great while fasting, as they cleanse the liver and gallbladder.  Fermented apple juice works better when you have arthritis since the fermentation reduces the acid crystals that form around body joints.

When my children were at home, someone had given us an old apple press which we quickly put to use that fall.  We went around to the neighbors and gathered up all the apples they didn't want and the kids had a ball squeezing out the juice.  Some of it they sold and put the money in their piggy banks.  The rest we enjoyed ourselves.

Apples were also great for fall parties - bobbing for them or trying to eat one tied to a string.  Our friend made apple dolls.  We also dried them for a very good snack.

  Tip:

Flu, colds, and fever are real pests.  Try filling the tub with luke warm water (NOT hot), add 1 cup of apple cider vinegar, 3 tsp ground ginger, and soak for only 10 - 15 minutes - no longer.  Helps alot.
